Super Week XLIII

As I write this I’m sitting in my office chair (not surprising) watching the super bowl (surprising). This year, I decided that it would be beneficial to watch a sports game in HD (since I’ve never done so before), and what better game to do that with than the football game. To help me pay attention, I made a bet with my roommate Alex. I’ve got 5 bucks on the Cardinals, so they better win. That’s like a free fast-food lunch right there.

Other things that happened last week: Arianna Pushkin, known to the interwebs as aipe / iaminuyasha / squirtle goddess, was visiting SCAD to check it out, so I contacted her to see if she’d be interested in meeting or getting lunch. She’s a big fan of Fobbies are Borange and Loids are not Christmas (so by default she’s looking forward to Tree from my Youth), so we had something to talk about. Alex and myself met her and her mother for lunch at the Mellow Mushroom on Friday, had pizza and talked about the school. She was very nice, albeit a little quiet, but I’ll say that was probably nervousness since it was her first time meeting someone from “the internet” (people from there exist, it’s true!). I’m glad I was able to meet her, and hopefully it made her trip to Savannah just a little bit better. We snapped a photo before she left, too.

Speaking of Tree from my Youth, I have officially decided not to write for it. This isn’t ‘e-drama’ in any sense of the word, I had just been very unhappy about the entire thing and I couldn’t figure out why. Well, yesterday I figured out why! Apparently I had my fill with Fobbies are Borange. The long nights on Skype really did me in, and I honestly don’t want to do it again. I feel like I could use my time better than sitting for hours in a call writing Fobbies are Borange 2. I’ll still be playing my parts in the show, but any time I write will be guest writing, not a regular thing. After I figured this out I felt so much better. Good luck to Ben, Steph, Martin and Chaz, I’m sure you’ll knock it out of the park!

If you haven’t been watching the main site or my YouTube channel, I finished a new video for a class. It’s titled Visiting, and has a more serious tone than my usual work (sorry kids, no laughs here). You can check that out (in HD!) right here. The next project in the works must be in the style of film noir, and we have to work in groups. I’ve never been one to work well when I’m with others, but my group has been pretty cool so far. We sat down together the other day and wrote a rough script about Dick, a sexist detective who is as much a detective as he is a woman (not at all). It’s still in a draft stage, but will hopefully be completed soon.

In my free time (in between playing Skate 2) I’ve been working on finally finishing the video pages on MeStephen.com. It took a while for me to come up with a format that I was happy with, but I finally decided on one. You can check out the video page for A Family’s Revenge, which is 100% completed. What do you think? Plenty of information, organized in a way that you should be visually appealing. I’m in the process of adding this sort of information to all of the video pages, and it should only take a few months… *sigh*. I’m not going in a particular order, so if you choose a video and it has the info, lucky you! Don’t bother clicking around looking for it at the moment, though, since AFR is the only one to implement it at the moment.

Well, Bruce Springsteen is shouting on the TV, so I’m going to stop and pay attention to that. With any luck, he’ll play the wonderful(ly bad) Streets of Philadelphia. One can only hope.
