I have a dream…
That one day I’ll be done with school and living in Delaware. Well, maybe not Delaware. Just choosing a random state, I guess.
I figured it’s probably time to update my blog with something other than quotes from Alex (which this blog normally is, for the most part), and after finishing 2 weeks of school I’d say something can be said.
As I suspected, this quarter is ridiculously easy. I’m taking Intro to Video/Film (pretty much the same course I took before but with film tacked onto it), Intro to Screenwriting (write a screenplay in 10 weeks) and Basic Mathmatics (keyword basic: hurray easy!). For the most part I don’t have a whole lot to do and spend a lot of my time working on other projects for myself.
Today is the exception, though. In a little bit, Ian and his girlfriend should be over here ready to be in my first video project this quarter. I’m going to shoot some cemetery scenery and use them as people. Overall it’s a very simple idea, but hopefully it will turn out alright. Ian doesn’t have the best track record for remembering things, but hopefully the fact I called him an hour ago will jog his memory.
In other news, Mallory and myself are still on the hunt to find her a cheap flight to Myrtle Beach for spring break. I’m going to make sure I see her one way or another, but things just haven’t been working out on the flight end. I swear that prices change more rapidly than the stock market. She’ll have a flight ticket ready and by the time she goes to buy it, the price has doubled. Talk about lame. She’s a worry wart, but I told her not to worry about this. I’d say we’ll be able to nab something this week, hopefully. If we can’t get something in the 200s then we’ll have to settle on something a little higher just so this can be all taken care of.
Two weeks ago we started something new called ‘Starmen.net Xbox Live Nights’, and it’s been a real blast. Just as the title implies, once a week the folks from Starmen.net get together and play xbox live together for a few hours. We’ve played Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 so far, and this coming Saturday is Grand Theft Auto 4 night. It should be a ton of fun. Check out the topic in the Beyond Fangamer forum if you’re interested in joining us.
Ninten Speaks is still going strong, with the seventh episode just being released recently. For the most part, people seem to enjoy the series, which is great since it’s so easy to do. I, personally, don’t enjoy them as much as some of the fans seem to, but if it’s making somebody laugh then it’s doing a good job, I suppose. You can subscribe to the podcast through the iTunes store or to the playlist on my YouTube accout.
Also, speaking of our darling little Ninten, kuruzen, a talented girl over at Starmen.net, recently did a comic for the entire first episode of Loids are not Christmas, the series in which Ninten was born. Since I was already doing videos for the Fobbies are Borange comic (currently producing comic 2), I decided to do the same for her. You can find both comic videos on my Vimeo account.
I also decided to purchase Left 4 Dead not too long ago and I haven’t regretted the purchase. It’s a horrible one-player game, but as soon as you invite friends over, the game becomes complete bliss. Fighting hordes of zombies and screaming at each other is what really brings people closer together. This game is also in the queue of online games to play during the xbox live nights, so join us if you can.
Last night we quickly watched The Happening. We knew it was horrible, so we decided to fast forward through quite a bit of the movie. We finished the movie in about 45 minutes and all of us felt like we knew exactly what had happened. It was more of a comedy than a horror and had all of us laughing and poking fun. It’s still no where near the piece of crap Lady in the Water was, but never-the-less it was a horrible movie. If you’re looking for a good laugh, though, this might suit you.
And that’s that. I’ll update again in the near future.
