Black Friday!
So yesterday was Black Friday. I celebrated in tradition by waking up and joining my good buddy Jarrett Hucks for a day of finding left-over sales and laughing at people fighting over random crap that they won’t care about a few months after Christmas. We started at Best Buy, grabbed some breakfast at Chick-Fil-A, hit Office Depot, headed over to Michael’s then to Circuit City, and wound up at the Coastal Grand mall to finish off.
The mall was absolutely berserk. People everywhere, in every store. When we had to go to the bathroom, we couldn’t help but notice the incredible line that was extending out of the women’s side (see photo). It was a pretty crazy place, but we did somehow manage to survive it all.
After we left the mall we headed down to the other mall, Colonial, and met up with Austin. He had been out the previous night at the Tanger shopping outlets with his family, and had went home and got in bed around 5am. He joined us for lunch and we looked around the mall a bit. We also ran into Jeremy and his girlfriend as we left.
Not much else to do, we went across the street to Tanger, a place I’m sure Austin was very sick of seeing, heheh. Anyway, the place was absolute madness. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place that busy in my entire life. When we drove in the entrance it took us about 10 minutes to park, after waiting behind a car that wanted a spot so bad he could taste it. The irony was that we ended up getting a spot before him, which made my day.
We looked around Tanger a bit and went in a few stores, but didn’t really get anything. I did, however, see a very snazzy looking guy in a white suit. I decided to take his picture even though he was staring at me at the time. I figured I could outrun him if he decided to chase me anyway, so no problems there.
After that we dispersed and Austin came back to the house for several hours of gaming. Overall the day was good, and I even managed to nab a 16gb USB drive for only $30 bucks at Office Depot. It’s pretty crazy to think that not too long ago a 2gb USB drive was $80, and now a 16gb was on sale for less than half that price. Oh, what a crazy world.
